The basic information
Professor Zied MOUMNI is Professor of Mechanical Engineering at ENSTA-Paristech. He is a “1000 talents” foreign expert of China. He holds the position of visiting professor at the Northwestern Polytechnical University where he founded the international research group DOSMS (Design of Smart Materials and Structures). He holds a Master degree in Mechanical engineering and PHD prepared at the École Polytechnique, Palaiseau, France. He also holds an “Habilitation to Conduct Research” (HDR), which is the highest degree in research in France, from the University of “Pierre et Marie-Curie”, Paris VI.
The research works of professor MOUMNI focuses on theoretical and numerical modeling of materials and structures presenting multi-physics and thermo-mechanical coupling. Several significant contributions have been achieved in the field of non-linear mechanics (solid-solid phase transformation, plasticity, fatigue, Self-Organized Criticality) and computational mechanics, especially in the field of modeling and optimization of structures made of smart materials.
The research works of professor MOUMNI have been sponsored by many industries: PSA Peugeot Citroen, Renault, National Center of Space (CNES), National Agency of Research (ANR) etc. The results have been published in the best reviews in the field, such as International Journal of Plasticity, Journal of the Mechanics and Physics of Solids and International Journal of Fatigue.
Professor Moumni is also a scientific expert at the European Commission.
Professor Moumni is the winner of the Chinese government Friendship Award in 2015. He received in 2012 the award of Knight of the Order of Academic Palms (Chevalier des Palmes Académiques) from the French government.
