Scientific Research

(1) Preparation and properties of high strength and toughness ceramic and composites. For examples, CNTs/SiC, SiCw /SiC, C/SiC, SiC/SiC, or any fiber composite

(2) Nondestructive testing and evaluation of defects and damage. For examples, X-ray radiography, CT, Thermography, and Ultra sonic C scan etc.

(3) Structure and performance predictions for composite and its components. For examples, tubular, columnar composite unit parts with FEA and mechanical tests.

Academic Achievements

He masters the Natural Science Foundation of China (NSFC), National Engineering Projects, and foundation research funding of NPU, also finished the international cooperation project funded by the U.S. Honeywell (Honeywell Inc.), and participated in the major international cooperation project of NSFC with University of Kyoto, Japan. He was authorized 8 national invention patents, published 101 high quality papers in English with more than 270 citations, in which there is 1 article won the ‘Top Paper’ prize with 200,000 RMB, and 6 articles published in the Carbon journal with impact factor of 6.16.
